The Role of the Binder

Post-fiberization, the fibers are collected together and coated with a chemical binder. This critical step provides structural strength to the fibers and imparts resistance against water, chemicals, and heat. Additionally, the binder also ensures the fiberglass maintains its shape during handling, cutting, and fitting stages.

Curing and Final Touches

The binder-coated fibers are then sent through a curing oven. The heat within the oven hardens the binder, thereby preparing the product for use. Once cured, the fiberglass may undergo various finishing processes such as cutting, shaping, sizing using lubricants such as Isoflex, or applying additional coatings, depending on the specific application requirements.
